In Kamchatka a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 8.5 has occurred, which triggered a tsunami. The Yelizovsky district was hit: waves 3-4 meters high were recorded.
According to Russian media, the first tremors were recorded around 11:30 local time. Panic gripped local residents - people ran out into the streets. This is reported by Dialog.UA.
In one of the educational institutions English Lyceum walls began to crack. All employees of the institution managed to evacuate. According to one of the teachers, in more than 50 years of living in Kamchatka, she had never experienced anything like it: "The ground was shaking and the building was shaking with the windows."
