IC: The Drone That Fell In Minsk Was Filled With TNT

The drone went down near an apartment building.

The Investigative Committee of Belarus claims that the drone that fell in Minsk was filled with TNT and a large number of destructive elements in the form of metal balls.

On Tuesday night, the first drone fell in Minsk. The Belarusian Defense Ministry said that an unidentified drone was shot down over the capital.

"On July 29, air defense forces on duty in the airspace of the Republic of Belarus detected and stopped the flight of an unidentified aerial target - an airspace violator, identified as an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). As a result of the impact of electronic warfare at 02:33, the UAV fell in the vicinity of house 72, Matusevicha Street in Minsk. There are no casualties," reads the statement of the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

This appearance of a drone over Minsk was the first, although earlier Belarusian independent media repeatedly reported about the crossing of the Belarusian border by Russian UAVs heading towards Ukraine.

The video footage, distributed by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the country, shows inscriptions in Ukrainian on the parts of the drone, and "Made in Germany" in English on one of the fragments.

The Investigative Committee of Belarus reported that a criminal case was opened over the fact of the drone crash. The warhead of the drone, whose wreckage damaged several parked cars and landed on the territory adjacent to a residential building, was allegedly equipped with "TNT and a large number of destructive elements in the form of metal balls."
