After that, the U.S. will start imposing duties.

The deadline to settle Russia's war in Ukraine will expire in 10 days starting July 29, U.S. President Donald Trump said aboard Air Force One before departing Scotland.

"10 days from today. Then we're going to impose duties. It will obviously affect Russia, but he [Putin] wants the war to go on. But we will impose duties. Maybe will affect them, maybe not," Trump said.

He also said he has "done a great job in five wars." "Do you think I get anything for that? No," the U.S. president said.

On July 14, Trump said he was unhappy with Russia and promised secondary duties of "about 100 percent" on the country and its trading partners if there was no progress in resolving the war with Ukraine within 50 days.

The day before, on July 28, Trump said he was "very disappointed" in Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and reduced the set deadline to 10-12 days.
