At the end of the first half of 2025, the share of Belarusian-made goods in retail trade seems to be the minimum for the last 20 years. Judging by the data of the National Statistical Committee, domestic goods occupy only 54.6% of the turnover. While a year ago the figure was 57.9%.

The government plans to steadily increase sales of domestic goods - in 2025, in particular, MART was set the task to bring the share of Belarusian goods to 63%.

The Ministry of Trade, however, stated that it "managed to reach a positive dynamics," and therefore the officials intend to stimulate sales of domestic goods further.

As they say, blessed is he who believes. But the real figures do not correlate with the words of the department's representatives. Judge for yourself: ten years ago, in 2015, the share of domestically produced goods in the Belarusian retail trade amounted to almost 70%, while in 2005 it exceeded 80%.

And this is another obvious "success" of the practice of manual regulation and coercion, which is persistently used by the Lukashenko regime.
