Thailand And Cambodia Agree On An Immediate Truce

After three days of fighting.

Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to an "immediate and unconditional" ceasefire. This was announced by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim after a meeting of the parties in his country, reports BILD.

The heads of Thailand and Cambodia arrived in Malaysia on July 28 to conclude the truce.

Reminder, on July 26, US President Donald Trump spoke to the leaders of Cambodia and Thailand about ending the armed conflict, and at the end of the talks said that "both sides want peace."

The border conflict began in late May 2025 with a firefight in the disputed area that resulted in the death of a Cambodian soldier. Since then, the two countries have concentrated troops along the border and restricted traffic on land crossings that serve as important trade routes.
