Lithuania Expects A Wave Of Drones From Belarus

In connection with Exercise West.

Defense Minister Dovile Šakalene said that more drones may enter Lithuania due to the upcoming Russian-Belarusian military exercise Zapad, Delfi reported.

"These 'stray' drones are becoming more and more numerous because (...) we are preparing for certain exercises that will take place beyond our border. At that time we will be much more active. Some actions that were planned a little later will now be postponed, and we will definitely try to reassure you," the minister told reporters on Monday.

She said that during the West exercise, Lithuania will also host relevant military exercises.

"The exercises that will take place in various formats in Lithuania, the Baltic States and the region as a whole will be really active and effective. At the same time, we will use this opportunity to train our reservists and take other measures, because we are also preparing certain reforms here, and a much larger operation awaits us," she explained.
