People Continue To Complain About A Strange Odor In Brest

Authorities are urging "don't panic."

In Brest, residents continue to complain about the unpleasant odor in the air, which causes tearing in the eyes, nausea and deterioration of health. The problem is most acute in the districts of Dubrovka, Kozlovichi and Katin Bor. People describe the odor as "fermentation," "beer-like" or "just unpleasant," and note that it is especially strong in the evenings, writes BG.Media.

Local residents write on social networks about physical symptoms: children's eyes start to tear, adults complain of headaches, pressure and stuffy ears.

But despite the mass complaints, authorities continue to say that no serious violations or hospitalizations have been recorded.

City officials admit that there is an odor, but cannot name its source. All appeals to the population are limited to recommendations "not to panic" and to contact the Ministry of Emergency Situations in case of "real suspicions".

This approach causes discontent and distrust among Brest residents: they recognize the problem, but do nothing. Back in 2022, residents of Kozlovichi suspected that the odor came from the rosin shop of the STiM enterprise, but the publication about it disappeared from the local website.

Many people believe that ignoring the problem only makes it worse, and ask: how long will it take for the authorities to start acting seriously?
