Spring passions about the shortage of potatoes distracted attention from the failures of other seasonal products, which are recorded in the semiannual statistics of the National Statistics Committee, noted the site "Belarusians and the market".

As a result, Belarusians bought 13.5% more potatoes in this period than in the same period last year. In terms of sales growth, it was second only to beet, sales-purchase of which increased by 22.8%.

And what the Belarusians did not finish in the off-season compared to 2024 is white cabbage and apples. The former - by 4.8%, the latter - by 1.7%.

The statistics on the share of domestic products in the sales of seasonal fruits and vegetables is interesting.

Fresh fruits and nuts produced in Belarus amounted to only 17.7% of the total sales volume in the first half of the year. Fresh vegetables and mushrooms - 77.2%.

fresh cucumbers - 93.0;

fresh table beets - 92.6;

fresh potatoes - 91.9;

fresh white cabbage - 72.0;
