Poland Imposes Sanctions Against Belarusian Cement Company

Because of the cooperation with Russia.

The Polish Interior Ministry announced that it had placed the Belarusian "Managing Company of the Belarusian Cement Company Holding Company" ("BCC") on the sanctions list. This holding company unites cement producers in Belarus.

The Polish agency accused the Belarusian cement companies of indirectly "violating human rights" as well as assisting Russia in actions that "destabilize or undermine the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine."

The Polish Interior Ministry drew this conclusion after studying the statistics of BCC companies' deliveries to Russia in 2023.

In April 2023, BCC exported a record 2.3 times more cement to Russia, the agency calculated.

By the way, until recently Belarus was a significant source of cement supplies to Poland: in 2021, the country imported 534,000 tons. However, a ban on cement imports from Belarus was imposed in 2022.
