Another Place In Belarus Has Seen A Mass Fish Die-off

Environmentalists are investigating the causes.

Mass fish kill was detected in the Plisa River in Barysau. Ecologists and investigators are finding out the reasons, (reported https://t.me/MiskOblEcology/3007) in Minsk Regional Committee of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.

Mass fish kill was found in the riverbed of the Plisa near Yushkevichskaya Street in Borisov. 159 dead individuals of various species - pikeperch, burbot, roach, perch and yazi were found.

The total environmental damage is estimated at 11,970 rubles (285 basic units).

The Investigative Committee has launched an investigation into the death of fish.

Specialists are conducting laboratory analysis of water samples and biomaterial to determine the cause of the morass.

Possible causes include unauthorized dumping of chemicals, sewage pollution, overheated water with oxygen deficiency.

We recall that recently it was reported that fish died in a pond near Minsk - the reasons are being investigated. But the death of fish on the river Yatranka in Hrodna voblast was definitely connected with the ingress of sewage water "along the terrain."
