The exchange went through Belarus.

Russia and Ukraine held another exchange of prisoners of war on July 23. This was reported by the press service of the Russian military department.

It is noted that the exchange took place "in accordance with the Russian-Ukrainian agreements reached on June 2 in Istanbul."

A group of Russian servicemen was returned from Ukraine and a group of AFU prisoners of war was handed over in return.

"At present, the Russian servicemen are on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, where they are provided with the necessary psychological and medical assistance. All Russian servicemen will be taken to the Russian Federation for treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions," the Russian Defense Ministry said.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that as part of the exchange of prisoners of war on July 23, "seriously ill and seriously wounded defenders are returning home."

-"Now we can already talk about details - by all stages of the latest Istanbul agreements we managed to return more than 1,000 of our people. For thousands of families it is a joy to embrace their loved ones again. I thank everyone who worked on this," Zelensky wrote.

The third round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine ended in Istanbul on July 23. Following the meeting, the head of the Russian delegation Vladimir Medinsky said that the exchange of prisoners 250 for 250 on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border was being finalized.
