Former chairman of the Democratic Party of Moldova, oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc has been detained in Greece. This was reported by the General Inspectorate of Police of Moldova.

Oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc is accused of taking part in the biggest banking scam in the country's history - the so-called "Thief of the Century," when more than $1 billion, or about 12 percent of Moldova's GDP, went missing from three Moldovan banks.
