It Has Become Known When The First Patriot Will Be Ready For Ukraine For Germany's Money

Bild announced the timeline.

The first Patriot system for Ukraine, which will be paid for by Germany, is still being manufactured. The complex will be ready in at least six to eight months.

"Switzerland is moving further down the waiting list for Patriot systems. The first unit will be delivered not in Bern but in Ukraine, and Germany will pay for it. However, this system is still being produced by the US defense company Raytheon and is not expected to be ready before six to eight months," the material says.

It is noted that Germany is considering giving Ukraine another Patriot unit from the Bundeswehr's stockpile, replacing it then with a new one from the US company Raytheon. But its production and delivery "will take years."

German government sources said the original plan was that the US would supply Ukraine with weapons from its own stockpiles. Germany, on the other hand, was to cover pre-order costs.

But U.S. President Donald Trump insisted that the Pentagon "can't give up any of its air defense assets" and Europe must find air defense systems from its own stockpiles.

At the same time, the publication says, Europe is short of air defense assets, and talks on who can help Ukraine have been going on for days.

According to Bild, three Patriot air defense systems are being upgraded and are not yet ready for use, with another one needed for training soldiers.
