Operation "Spider's Web": Russian Planes Were Hit Exactly In The Designated Places

In a photo of SBU chief Vasyl Maliuk during conducting special operation "Spider's Web" one can notice images of two Russian airplanes with markings on them. The Defense Express explained what they indicate.

It is noted that the marks indicate the location of Ukrainian drone strikes. Much depended on the accuracy of the attack.

The publication shared that the marks are located on the weak points of the aircraft. Hitting them guarantees complete destruction of the equipment.

In particular, the mark on the Tu-22M3 bomber is located at the site of the central fuel tank, the publication emphasized. It is located above the centerplane, which is a key element of the aircraft's structural strength.

The publication added that an aircraft fire in the centerplane area could lead to irreversible loss of structural strength or complete destruction. The journalists noted that aluminum alloys used in aviation have a melting point of about 650 degrees Celsius.

To effectively defeat the Tu-95MS Ukrainian drones had to hit the wing between the fuselage and the internal engine. The publication explained that it is there that one of the fuel tanks of the strategic bomber is located, as well as the four-link structure of the wing root.

In addition, hitting the fuel tanks of these aircraft leads to a large-scale fire, the publication noted. After that, the planes are no longer repairable.

The publication also told about the weak points of the Tu-160, which could be hit by Ukrainian drones. This is a small fuel tank above the center wing of the aircraft or the main fuel tank in the tail.

The effectiveness of such strikes depended on whether the aircraft were fueled. The publication emphasized that the bombers involved in Operation Web were attacked as part of the attacks on Ukraine, so there was a high probability that they were pre-prepared for departure.
