Ukrainian Prime Minister Dmytro Shmygal said this in an official's interview with the TV channel France 24.
The prime minister said it was a "very targeted military operation" for Ukraine.
"We have been proposing a complete ceasefire for two months now, and the Russians still do not agree. They continue to attack the country's civilian infrastructure with missiles and drones every night and every day. So we have no choice but to destroy their military capabilities and reduce their ability to attack our population with cruise missiles," Shmygal emphasized.
He said Operation Web proves that innovation and new technologies play a decisive role in this war and change the situation on the battlefield.
"And I am convinced that Ukraine has many other ideas to improve this capability. We continue to work hard to reduce the Russians' ability to attack Ukraine. You can see by the way Ukrainian naval drones are liberating the waters of the Black Sea. Now we are planning to free our airspace from Russian bombers," the head of the government said.
Shmygal also noted that our country needs long-range missiles from Western partners to neutralize Russian logistics near the border with Ukraine.
"Russia continues to attack Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya and Sumy regions. The only way to stop them, contain them and save many lives is to have the means to reduce their military logistics," the prime minister said.
The prime minister expressed hope that Kiev would have enough capacity to produce medium- and long-range weapons from Western partners. According to him, Ukraine needs support from Germany, France and other EU countries. He recalled that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the European Union has allocated 138 billion euros of military aid to Ukraine.
The head of government said that the topics of the nearest negotiations with the French authorities will be the creation of joint ventures for the production of types of effective weapons that have already proven themselves on the battlefield.
