The Israel Defense Forces reported the killing of Mohammed Issa al-Issa, one of the key founders of Hamas' military wing. The operation was carried out in Gaza City.
It was reported by The Hill.
According to the Israeli military, al-Issa was one of the key figures involved in a massive attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, that killed more than 1,200 people and took about 250 more hostages.
The Israeli side also says al-Issa was also active in rebuilding Hamas' war-damaged infrastructure in Gaza.
The Israeli military believes he was one of the last senior officials of the group to remain in the enclave.
