What's unusual about his flight?
The US has recorded an unusual flight of the so-called Donald Trump Doomsday Plane, a special E-4B Nightwatch airborne command center designed for emergency situations, including nuclear war, writes The Daily Mail.
On Tuesday, June 18, one of the "doomsday planes" took off from a US Air Force base in Louisiana and landed four hours later at Andrews Base near the capital Washington. It used the unusual call sign ORDER01, not previously seen in flights of this class.
Although the E-4B fleet regularly performs training flights, this one has sparked a wave of speculation amid skyrocketing tensions over Iran.
Experts speculate that the plane's flight may be linked to Donald Trump's increased security measures, given the potential threat of nuclear escalation in the Middle East. However, the official purpose of the mission has not been disclosed.
The E-4B, or "doomsday plane," serves as an airborne command center for the U.S. president, secretary of defense and Army leadership in case of emergencies.
There are a total of four such aircraft in the U.S. (and the world). Each seats up to 112 people and can travel more than 11,000 kilometers without refueling.
It can withstand nuclear and electromagnetic strikes, has protection from cyberattacks, can not land for weeks and is equipped with 67 antennas and satellite communications systems. On board are briefing rooms, a command center and even sleeping quarters for the crew.
