The official Telegram of the Israel Defense Forces reported.

According to the statement, 60 Israeli Air Force fighter jets struck more than 20 military targets in the Iranian capital Tehran in the past hours. Among the targets hit were those related to nuclear weapons development and missile production.

"As part of a major operation against Iran's nuclear weapons development program, the Israeli Air Force hit weapons production facilities, centrifuge facilities, as well as research and scientific centers involved in Iran's nuclear program," the publication said.

The IDF emphasized that the facilities were intended to scale up and accelerate uranium enrichment for the purpose of building nuclear weapons.

It also noted that Iran enriches uranium well above the level needed for civilian use, with an emphasis on conversion to high levels.

"The regime in Iran has utilized the country's vast territory and placed its production facilities in various, far-flung areas to ensure the smooth operation of its nuclear industry," the publication said.

The Israeli army added, as part of the latest wave of strikes, cheese factories and missile assembly components were also hit, as well as facilities related to the production of Iran's air defense systems. The rockets in question are missiles that Tehran launches into Israel.

"The IDF will continue to act to weaken Iran's missile program and protect Israelis. The IDF will continue to act against Iran's nuclear weapons program in order to protect the civilians of the State of Israel," the army summarized.
