Traffic has dropped to about 3% of standard consumption.
Iran is experiencing a near-total internet blackout, according to NetBlocks, a web monitoring service.
"Confirmed: real-time data shows that Iran is experiencing a near-total internet blackout on a national scale," the service said.
NetBlocks notes that there have been smaller-scale outages in the republic before, amid escalating tensions with Israel. Internet availability has not dropped below 60 percent since June 13, when the Israeli operation began, according to a graph provided by the service. Now the line on the graph is almost close to zero.
