Zelensky Ends Visit To Canada Ahead Of Schedule

A scheduled press conference in Calgary has been canceled.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is ending his visit to Canada ahead of schedule following the overnight massive shelling of Kiev that occurred on June 17.

Sources in the Ukrainian delegation told the publication that the head of state will return to Kiev immediately after the conclusion of talks in Kananaskis. At the same time, the planned press conference in Calgary has been canceled.

Another reason for the shortened visit was the decision of US President Donald Trump not to participate in Tuesday's part of the program.

The G7 summit with the participation of the leaders of the US, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the EU and the UK began in the Canadian province of Alberta on June 16. The main topics were the war in Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East and security in the Indo-Pacific region.

U.S. President Donald Trump left the summit early due to rising tensions in the Middle East.
