Ukraine's president has called for a cap on Russian oil prices.
It is important for Ukraine that the price limits for Russian oil were at the level of $30 per barrel. And it should be a joint decision of the G7 leaders, including the United States.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the statement of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
"I urge you to cooperate with the United States to impose a strict limit on the price of Russian oil. Now the proposed price is $45 per barrel, but many experts agree that the really effective level is $30," the president emphasized.
He said Ukraine together with its partners should make this "painful for Russia."
"The EU's 18th package of sanctions should also hit Russia's energy industry and banks. It's important to provide $40 billion in annual budget support for Ukraine - for our sustainability, for our country to hang on. And this should be a joint decision of the G7 leaders, including the United States," he concluded.
In addition, Zelensky called on G7 leaders to help Ukraine with air defense.
"Air defense systems were working almost all over the country, quite a number of drones and missiles were intercepted - largely thanks to the support of your countries. This is a matter of life and death," Zelensky said.
He stressed that Ukraine should continue to receive air defense systems and missiles and move to localize production in Ukraine.
"This is an urgent need to save lives. We are now working on the development and deployment of interceptor drones to protect our cities from the Shaheds. Our cities, and therefore yours," he added.
At the same time, the president called on G7 leaders to provide additional funding for their production.
"These new interceptors are important for Europe, but also for the Indo-Pacific region, Japan, Canada and the United States," he concluded.
