Lukashenko Panics About Drone Attacks

The country will increase penalties for drones.

The punishment for the import, manufacture and use of drones is planned to be changed in Belarus, BelTA informs.

"The House of Representatives will soon consider a new bill "On Amendments to the Codes of Administrative and Criminal Responsibility" in the first reading.

It prescribes new - stricter - penalties for the use of UAVs in the country.

In particular, the illegal import, storage, trafficking, operation and manufacture of drones may face up to two years of imprisonment.

It is known that at first they plan to fine. But if violations are committed by a guilty person within a year after bringing to administrative responsibility, then criminal liability (under the article of the Criminal Code of Belarus) will be imposed.

The law also introduces administrative responsibility for the management of unregistered civil aircraft or flights without the necessary on-board documentation.

In addition, cases when the drone is operated by a person who has no right to do so will be penalized. Separately, liability for violating the requirements for state registration and operation of drones is also prescribed.

The House of Representatives noted that the purpose of the bill is to ensure national and public security, as well as flight safety when using the country's airspace to launch civilian drones.
