North Korea To Send Thousands Of Sappers And Construction Workers To Russia

To "rebuild" the Kursk region.

Russia has agreed with the DPRK to send North Korean sappers and construction workers to allegedly rebuild Russia's Kursk region. This was stated by the Secretary of the Security Council of the aggressor country Russia Sergei Shoigu, writes NV with reference to Russian media.

Soigu said that the DPRK dictator Kim Jong-un decided to send to Russia one thousand sappers to demine the Russian territory and five thousand military construction workers to allegedly rebuild destroyed infrastructure facilities.

The secretary of the Russian Security Council also said that during the talks, Russia and North Korea agreed on "assistance in the restoration of Kursk Oblast."

Ahead of that, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Kirill Budanov, said in an interview with The War Zone published on June 9 that the next batch of North Koreans would arrive in Russia under a new "migrant labor" scheme.

Budanov said that about 11,000 military personnel from North Korea are now stationed in Russia's Kursk Oblast.

The head of Ukrainian intelligence noted that there is a high probability that among the "labor migration" there are people who will start signing contracts with the Russian Defense Ministry.

On May 11, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, during a nightly speech to the press, officially recognized the participation of military personnel from North Korea in Russia's war against Ukraine.

Also in April, Putin for the first time publicly commented on the participation of military personnel from North Korea in the war against Ukraine on the side of the Russian Federation in Kursk region.

On April 26, the head of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, acknowledged for the first time the participation of DPRK military personnel in Russia's war against Ukraine during a report to Putin on the alleged "liberation" of Kursk Oblast.

On April 27, North Korea also confirmed for the first time that it had sent its troops to support Russia in the war against Ukraine on the "orders" of dictator Kim Jong Un.
