Israel Destroyed Centrifuges At Iran's Main Nuclear Plant

Radioactive and chemical contamination has occurred at the site.
The uranium enrichment centrifuges at Iran's underground Natanz plant may have been completely destroyed by Israeli strikes on June 13, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, said.
He said it was due to a power outage and the destruction of the above-ground part of the plant. "Our assessment is that with this sudden loss of external power, it is very likely that the centrifuges have been severely damaged, if not destroyed completely," Grossi told BBC.
He also added that radioactive and chemical contamination has occurred at the site, but that radioactivity levels outside remain within normal limits for now. No inspections are being conducted at the site at this time for safety reasons. "I could never expose my inspectors to such a danger, so of course the facilities are closed, they are inaccessible for any normal activities," the IAEA chief said.
