Will The Regime Start Shutting Down Factories?

It seems that Belarus has figured out how to solve the problem of personnel shortage.

And it's such a simple solution that it's a wonder it never occurred to anyone before. If there are not enough people at the factories, and there is nowhere to get them, then you just have to close down the redundant factories. And then the country will immediately have extra people. Such an idea was presented yesterday by Lukashenko's favorite propagandist Igor Tur. However, Lukashenko himself hinted at this way of solving the problem of personnel shortage earlier, writes planbmedia.io.

"Today the state has no need to support unprofitable enterprises to save jobs. And to do so is even to aggravate the already modern problem," said the propagandist.

The modern problem is precisely the shortage of personnel. The problem, which the Belarusian authorities even honestly tried to solve. Well, as they could, they solved it. But one hundred and fifty thousand promised Pakistanis have not arrived yet, and the idle people could not be employed for a long time. So at the moment Belarus is already short of more than two hundred thousand workers.

And it's not because of the fact that according to the minimum estimates, 600 thousand people have left the country since 2020. It's because the Belarusian authorities were too caring and took Belarusians for full maintenance.

"Well, how much can you help? They are actually hanging on the shoulders of the state," said Lukashenko last week.

That is, the authorities are going to arrange a forced redistribution of the labor force in Belarus. Everything as they like. So that people from the closed unprofitable factories would go to work where there are not enough workers. But there is one little nuance. Or rather many small nuances.

Two decades of modernization of woodworking have driven woodworking into chronic debt. The modernization of cement plants has turned out to be even worse. The National Biocorporation, built with Chinese loans, has to be taken on budget maintenance. "Belaruskali had to cut production by 10% last fall in order not to sell potash at a loss. Belarusian Metallurgical Plant is also slowing down. And Novopolotsk and Mozyr oil refineries have reduced the performance of entire districts with their losses.

So, if we start closing unprofitable enterprises in Belarus, it may inadvertently turn out that there will be no economy left in the country. It's much more effective to close those who brought Belarusian factories to such a life. And by the way, it is possible to start with the Belarusian television.
