Trump Responds Sharply To Macron On Reasons For Early Departure From G7 Summit

It has nothing to do with a truce.

US President Donald Trump has responded sharply to French leader Emmanuel Macron regarding his leaving the G7 leaders' summit in Canada early to work on a "ceasefire" between Israel and Iran.

He said this on social media Truth Social.

The day before, Macron suggested that Trump had made a "proposal" for a cease-fire in the Middle East.

"French President Emmanuel Macron, hungry for public attention, falsely claimed that I left the G7 summit in Canada to return to Washington to work on a "cease-fire" between Israel and Iran. This is not true! He has no idea why I am now heading to Washington, but it certainly has nothing to do with a cease-fire. It's something much more than that. Intentionally or not, Emmanuel always gets it wrong," the US leader noted.
