On the night of June 17, drones attacked Russia en masse: the Tambov region in particular came under attack, with powerful explosions in various places, including Tambov and Kotovsk. The likely target of the attack could be the Progress plant, which specializes in the production of control systems for aircraft and missile technology.
The Progress plant, which was probably attacked that night, is a Soviet-Russian high-tech enterprise that produces, among other things, gyromotors, gyro nodes, stabilization systems, autopilots and the like. To counter the UAV attack, the Russians involved aviation, said the head of the NGO "Center for Occupation Studies" Petr Andryushchenko in his Telegram channel.
The first explosions in the Tambov region occurred around 01:40 hours: local publicks reported air defense operations in Kotovsk. Russian air defense was also active in Tambov itself.
At around 02:00 hours, explosions went off in a number of settlements in the region, particularly in Inzhavino, Michurinsk, Kuzmino-Gat, and Kalais, Russian publicks reported.

The network also released a video of a night attack in the Tambov region. The footage shows flashes in the sky and the work of Russian air defense systems.
The attack on Russia's Tambov region continued after 02:00 hours, with local media reporting airport closures and the movement of at least a dozen attack drones.
Local authorities have not commented on the strikes on the Tambov region.
Peter Andryushchenko shared data regarding the attack on the Tambov region. According to his information, the Progress plant located in the city of Michurinsk could be under attack.
"Tambov region. Since 01:15 mass attack of our UAVs and active work of Russian air defense. The priority target is the plant of JSC "Progress" Michurinsk, Lipetskoye Shosse, 113," the figure noted.

According to open sources, the plant "Progress" is one of the 5 largest enterprises in the Tambov region of the Russian Federation. This enterprise manufactures high-tech equipment for aircraft and missile control systems, as well as a wide range of civilian electrical equipment, equipment for gas and oil pipelines.
The Russians used aviation to repel the drone attack.
It should be noted that the Progress plant has been attacked by drones before. Such an attack in particular took place on June 6, when a drone hit the plant's production shop.
