The commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces Mikhail Drapaty has resigned. The reason was the Russian Federation's strike on the 239th range of the AFU, he wrote in his Telegram channel.

"This is a conscious step dictated by my personal sense of responsibility for the tragedy at the 239th range, which resulted in the death of our soldiers... As commander, I was unable to fully enforce my orders. We do not have the right to live in a system that does not learn. An army in which commanders are personally responsible for the lives of men - lives. An army where no one is responsible for loss - dies from within."

The AFU Ground Forces earlier reported that a missile strike hit the location of a training unit, killing 12 people and injuring 60 others.

The Ground Forces Command set up a special commission and ordered an official investigation.
