Huge Turnout Recorded In Poland's Presidential Election

4% more than in the first round.

The second round of the presidential election has begun in Poland, with Civic Coalition candidate Rafal Trzaskowski and Right and Justice-backed Karol Nawrocki facing off. The Central Election Commission gives the first figures on turnout.

By 12 p.m. local time, turnout was 24.83 percent. This is 4 percent more than in the first round.

Of the provincial cities, the highest turnout was in Lublin, and the lowest in Gdansk.

It should be noted that in the first round of elections, which ended on May 18, Rafal Trzaskowski won 31.36 percent of the vote, and Karol Nawrocki 29.54 percent. According to polls, both candidates have an equal chance of winning. The result may be determined by a few tens of thousands of votes.
