They look like subpoenas.
"Unemployed in the economy" residents of Homel region started to receive letters from the police, as "Flagstaff" writes about it.
As noted, the letters from the police are more like summonses. One of the "notices to appear" handed to journalists states in an ultimatum tone that the recipient must report to the local police department "to resolve the issue of employment."
The "deadbeats" have never received such letters before; they have only received messages offering assistance in finding employment.
It is known that people, who have been working abroad for five or more years and do not live in Belarus, also received notices from the police.
The notice says that the police sends letters in order to "ensure compliance with the constitutional obligation of citizens to participate in the financing of public spending by paying taxes. However, nothing is written about this in the Constitution of Belarus. There is a right to work, but not an obligation.
It was previously reported that in Homel voblast they started to hold forced "job fairs" on the basis of police departments.
