European Diplomats Expressed Solidarity With Nina Baginskaya
Nina Baginskaya

Today she is on trial for repeated picketing.

May 30, representatives of diplomatic missions in Belarus came to the courthouse of Savetski district court in Minsk. Thus, they expressed solidarity with Nina Baginskaya, who is being tried here, reports "Euroradio".

"Today, a hearing on the case of 78-year-old Nina Baginskaya was held in one of Minsk courts. The charges against her are unfair and politically motivated. Representatives of diplomatic missions in Belarus came to the courthouse today during the hearing to express solidarity with Nina Baginskaya," reads the message of the German Embassy in Minsk.

As previously reported, the criminal case against Baginskaya was launched on charges of repeated violation of the law on holding mass events (Article 342-2 of the Criminal Code). The woman is accused of illegal picketing for her walks through Minsk streets with white-red-white badges and demonstration of national symbols in 2024.

Baginskaya was fined three times last year, accused of "unauthorized pickets." The total amount of fines amounted to 720 rubles. In addition, five more protocols were drawn up against her.
