U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham said that Russia is heading into the abyss.
U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has warned Russian citizens of the harmful consequences due to the policy of aggression by dictator Vladimir Putin, who does not want to end the war against Ukraine.
Graham writes about this in his Twitter account (X).
"I appreciate all that U.S. President Donald Trump has done to end this terrible war. But to end any war, you have to have partners who want (it). So far, Putin is unwilling," the senator's memo reads.
Graham, speaking of Putin, urged not to forget that "this is the man who facilitated the regime of (Syrian President Bashar) Assad in dropping barrel bombs from helicopters on innocent civilians and deliberately targeting hospitals in Syria."
"The same barbaric behavior is being played out in Ukraine," the Republican senator notes.
Graham also warned Russian citizens in his address about the detrimental consequences for the country due to the Kremlin's actions, particularly the casualties due to aggressive war, economic decline and international isolation.
"To the Russian people: Putin is leading you into the abyss.
Tens of thousands of Russian military dead and wounded.
An economy smaller than the size of Italy has more pressure.
Russia is more isolated than ever."
Resummarizing, Graham states that "that doesn't make Russia great - it makes it a rogue state." And he also hints at the alleged ability of the aggressor country's society to do better than the current Russian government.
"You, the Russian people and military, can do better," the U.S. senator's publication reads.
I appreciate all that President @realDonaldTrump has done to try to end this terrible war. But to end any war, you must have willing partners. As of yet, Putin is not willing.
As to Putin: we must remember this is the man who facilitated the Assad Regime in dropping barrel bombs... pic.twitter.com/syJmunE5Rf
