WP: Ilon Musk Is Stepping Away From Politics Out Of Frustration

The billionaire decided to concentrate on running his companies.

American billionaire and associate of Donald Trump, Ilon Musk, has decided to distance himself from politics not because of a sense of mission accomplished, as he previously stated, but because of frustration and difficulty in achieving the desired results.

This is reported by The Washington Post, citing sources familiar with the billionaire's position.

The publication's sources said Musk was aware last year of the personal and financial risks associated with supporting Trump, a candidate many customers of the billionaire's businesses are skeptical of. Despite this, he chose to openly support the Republican based on his own ideological beliefs on immigration, criminal policy and free speech, rather than because of political gain.

Musk's enthusiasm subsequently waned, however. The reason was not only the high costs, but also the difficulty of achieving political influence. Particularly painful for him was the wave of criticism that came in response to his activities at the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which he created. Protests were held at Tesla charging stations and dealerships in various countries, and in some places the situation escalated - there were cases of vandalism, the use of incendiary mixtures and even shooting.

In addition, according to WP sources, another motive for leaving the political scene was Musk's desire to concentrate on managing his companies Tesla and SpaceX. He is especially focused on continuing the space program, particularly plans to send humans to Mars.
