Evidence of Angelika Melnikova's connection with the Belarusian special services has emerged.

The Polish magazine Polityka and the publication The Insider have revealed new details of the investigation into the disappearance of the speaker of the "coordination council" Anjelika Melnikova. Polish investigators emphasize that the speaker who disappeared with money may have been recruited by Belarus' military intelligence.

Melnikova out of nowhere

Polish magazine Polityka claims that Angelika appeared out of nowhere in structures close to Svetlana Tihanovska. She did not participate in mass protests against the rigged elections in 2020, but paid two fines for calling for resistance in a chat room.

In September 2020, she emigrated to Kiev with her programmer husband Andriy Melnikov. In 2021, the couple moved to Bialystok, Poland. There, Melnikova, according to Polish investigators, began to seek contacts with the Belarusian opposition.

She began by working with a small foundation, but in 2023 found herself in a completely different position - in leading roles in the National Crisis Management Pawel Latushko.

"Angelika speaks English well, knows how to fill out grant applications. The head of NAU, Pavel Latushko, was very pleased to work with her. Melnikova begins to make a career", - writes Polityka.

Vacation in Cuba

In 2022, Angelika sent the children to her mother in Belarus, in the town of Nesvizh, and moved to Warsaw. In mid-2023, Melnikova flew on vacation to Cuba, where she was to meet her mother.

"Angelika takes a vacation from August 16 to September 1, 2023, and flies to Varadero. She returns directly to an economic forum in Karpacz, Poland. Melnikova did not hide her stay in Cuba"," Polityka writes.

Moscow-Varadero-Moscow

There was something unusual about the trip to Cuba, which Melnikava did not mention.

The journalists of the Belarusian Investigative Center found out that someone bought a ticket in Angelika's name, using the data of her Belarusian passport. It was a ticket of the Russian airline Nord Wind on the route Moscow-Varadero-Moscow.

"What sense did it make if Melnikova lived in Warsaw, from which there was no air service to the Russian capital since the beginning of the war in Ukraine?" - Polityka wondered.

It turned out that along with the Moscow ticket for Melnikova was booked and bought a ticket in the name of a man with a Belarusian passport Alexei Gordeev.

Polityka investigators note that in cooperation with the portal "The Insider" they managed to establish that Alexei Gordeev is an employee of Belarusian intelligence. His real name is Alexei Vitalievich Lobeev. He was born into a Belarusian military family in 1993 and graduated from the military faculty of the Belarusian State University.

The publication gives some details of Lobeev's biography, whose father, according to investigators, was also connected with the intelligence services, having served in the Belarusian military intelligence GRU. Lobeev is married to Marina Lobeeva, née Mikhnovets.

At the same time, the publication notes, Melnikova did not use a Moscow ticket and arrived in Cuba on another flight, while Lobeev arrived on a Nord Wind flight with Oksana Savchenko, Melnikova's mother.

"Had Lobeev and Melnikova known each other before? Was their meeting in Cuba an operational game by Belarusian military intelligence? What was the role of Oksana Savchenko? Did she connect her daughter with the agent?" - Polish investigators put questions.

It is not excluded that the agent of the Belarusian GRU was a liaison of the speaker of the CC with the intelligence services.

The next meeting between Melnikova and Lobeev, according to journalists, took place in January 2025 in Sri Lanka, it was already reported in previous investigations Polityka.

She flew to Sri Lanka from London after her disappearance in February this year, from where she went to the United Arab Emirates, which, according to the investigators, she also left, and now Melnikova's whereabouts are unknown.
