The Danes advanced to the semifinals by beating the Canadians.
The Danish team won a 2-1 victory over Canada in the quarterfinals of the 2025 IIHF World Championship.
The Danes, who are the hosts of the world championship together with the Swedes, met one of the favorites of the competition at the arena in Herning.
Canada had a significant advantage in the first two periods (30:11 in shots on goal), but failed to break through the opponent's defense. The teams went into the second big break without scoring.
Only in the sixth minute of the third period Canadian defenseman Travis Sengaim opened the scoring.
The Danes, however, made an incredible comeback at the end of the game. First Nikolaj Ehlers equalized the score, and in the last minute Nick Olesen brought the hosts a sensational victory.
