Zelensky Addressed Putin After Talks In Istanbul
Vladimir Zelensky

The Russian dictator sent a very low level delegation to Turkey.

The Ukrainian delegation arrived in Istanbul ready to discuss the end of the war. In return, Russia sent representatives without real authority.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

"This week we had a real chance to make important steps towards ending this war, if only (Russian dictator Vladimir, - ed.) Putin had not been afraid to come to Turkey," Zelensky emphasized.

He added that yesterday he had personally been in Ankara and thanked Turkish President Redcep Tayyip Erdogan for the reception. The Ukrainian president noted that even yesterday he was ready for a direct meeting with Putin in Ankara or in Istanbul.

"And not just a meeting, but to solve all important issues, in my opinion. But he didn't agree to anything. I mean Putin," the president said.

At the same time, he noted that the Russian dictator sent a very low-level delegation to Turkey.

"There is not a single person in its composition who really makes decisions in Russia. Despite this, I sent our team headed by the Ukrainian Defense Minister to Istanbul - if only to find out whether those Russians are really capable of solving something," he explained.

With this as a backdrop, Zelensky appealed to Putin and called for this delegation to be given real powers.

"Ukraine is ready to take all realistic steps to end this war. I call on Putin to give his delegation real powers," the Ukrainian leader said.

Zelensky said he would inform everyone throughout the day about what is happening in Istanbul and whether there is a chance that the Russian delegation will take realistic steps to stop the killings and end the war.
