Superior officers will remain in the reserves as long as they are fit for duty.

The Finnish Defense Ministry has prepared a proposal to raise the age of reservists to 65 years.

According to "European Truth" with reference to the press service of the Finnish Defense Ministry.

The increase in the upper age limit will apply to all conscripts born in 1966 and later: privates, junior commanders and officers.

Higher-ranking officers will remain in the reserve as long as they are fit for service.

The reserve will increase by 125,000 draftees during the five-year transition period, as those who reach age 60 will continue their military service five years longer. In 2031, the size of the reserve will be about one million.
