NV: Biletsky Forms The Third Corps, Which Will Become A Laboratory Of Change In The AFU
Andriy Biletsky

This will significantly affect the situation on the front.

The Third Army Corps, commanded by Andriy Biletsky, will become a laboratory of change. He created Azov and the Third Assault Brigade, and their best practices will be embodied in the corps.

This is what NV writes in the first material of the "Komkory" project.

"Biletsky is a leader of a new type. He is not part of the classic army hierarchy, not a career military man moving through the ranks of the system. This is a leadership of a social type: with roots in the volunteer movement, with an ideological core and personal responsibility to the fighters," assures military journalist and Censor.NET chief Yury Butusov.

Biletsky's path to war began from the detention center, where he was held by the Yanukovych regime. In the first days after his release, he created the Black Corps guerrilla unit to defend Kharkiv from Russian saboteurs. The history of Azov, with which Biletsky commanded the liberation of Mariupol, Maryinka, and Shirokino, dates back from there.

In 2022, he joined a risky operation planned by the GUR, the AFU, and Azov veterans - an attempt to break through to Mariupol. He created the Third Assault Brigade with about 10,000 fighters and officers. It demonstrates stability in long battles, skillfully adapts to modern threats, in particular drones, and has become an organizational template for the corps model of the AFU.

Biletsky applied his invariable principles to its creation: clear management, emphasis on training, technology, and corporate spirit. Teamwork, initiative, self-development and "do as I do" are important to him in working with personnel. The emphasis on people is palpable in his unit.

"We're not just a unit, we're almost a family organization. It creates its own style, its own ethics, and even a visual identity," explained the NV ex-combat commander.

The effectiveness of this approach can be seen in the results. American military analyst Rob Lee noted the Third Assault Force's exceptional performance in the fight against drones: for example, over the past six months it has destroyed more than 220 Russian UAVs, including 40 Zala and 29 Supercam. This, according to the expert, demonstrates the deep integration of counter-drone assets into combat units, a level rarely achieved even in the world's strongest armies.

The Third Corps is being formed on the basis of the Third Assault Corps, but the brigade itself will continue to exist as part of it. But after the formation of the corps' management, other units will join it. Biletsky emphasizes that his corps is not just a new structure, but a laboratory of change.

"The main thing now is to complete the formation of the management and corps kits: drones, reconnaissance, medics, logistics. These are the elements that make the corps truly capable," Komkor explains.

Butusov explains that once the bureaucratic processes are completed, the corps will be able to fully deploy its forces in the Kupyansko-Limansky direction and stabilize the front. He is confident that this will significantly affect the course of hostilities: "The enemy will suffer heavy losses, and the consequences will be felt very quickly."
