Belarusian Eighth-graders Will Be Taught To Fly Drones

Belarusian schoolchildren of the eighth and ninth grades will be taught to operate UAVs, reported in the press service of the Ministry of Education.
Schools will have an elective course "Basics of quadrocopter control" from the new academic year. This is stated in the relevant decree.
The skills acquired in the process of training will help to master the engineering profession. The discipline is introduced "in order to popularize engineering professions and attract schoolchildren to technical creativity".
The lessons will be conducted mainly on a virtual simulator. Special attention will be paid to the basics of aerodynamics, mechanics and electronics. They will teach to program unmanned aircrafts.
"All this will allow to develop technical thinking and skills to work with modern technologies, as well as engineering, inventive and creative abilities in children from school," the report says.
Teachers, who will lead the new elective, will be assisted by specialists of the National Children's Technopark and the Belarusian State Academy of Aviation.
