Belarusian Performs In Popular Polish TV Show, Delights Jury
KASSIA NOUA

The Brest resident moved to Poland after the 2020 protests.

Belarusian singer Kassia Noua together with Ukrainian guitarist Ilya Kushnerov performed in the ‘Must be the Music’ show on the Polsat TV channel. The jury members gave their compositions the highest mark, writes Most.

Nastassia Kucharchyk, 22, from Brest, who performs under the stage name of Kassia Noua, came to Poland after the events of 2020. She is now a student at the University of Wroclaw. Ilya Kushnerov, 19, came to Poland after the outbreak of war.

In the TV show, they presented a composition of ‘Difficult Ages’ in English, which Kassia Noua dedicated to the 2020 protests in Belarus. Some phrases she sings in Russian. In the song, the girl asks the question: ‘Is there a place in this new world for those whose thoughts have been stolen?’.

The jury highly appreciated the duet's song: the performers received four ‘Yes’.

‘In all seriousness, I have no words. It's a really high flight that simultaneously sent me somewhere into contemporary music, and at the same time - we were looking with Sebastian [Karpel-Bulecka, jury member] at each other and he was saying, ‘You can hear folklore in there’ - it really hit the spot, it's phenomenal,’ said jury member Miuosh, a Polish rapper.

‘You have a penetrating vocal. It's a very mature composition, so ready-made, hit material. This is hit material, and we want hits!’ commented jury member Natallia Schroeder.
