Ukraine Creates New Drone Missile ‘Bars’

Last year, Ukraine developed a new type of weapon — a drone missile called “Bars”. At the same time, details regarding the technical characteristics or combat use of the new model have not yet been disclosed.

As reported by LIGA.net, this was reported by the Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin during the briefing “Ukrainian Arms 2024”.

According to the official, last year Ukraine began to create a new generation of cruise missiles, in particular — developments that he described as “drone missiles. In addition to “Bars”, this category also includes “Palyanytsia”, “Peklo”, and “Ruta”.

Smetanin noted that if in 2023 the Ukrainian defense industry complex produced only one model of cruise missiles — “Neptune”, then in 2024 the arsenal was replenished with a significant number of new developments. This made it possible to increase production volumes eightfold compared to the previous year.
