Zelensky: Russia Pulling Troops Towards Border, Preparing New Strikes Against Ukraine

Putin is planning offensive actions in Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv and Sumy directions.

The Russian Federation has started to pull its troops to the border area of Sumy region. The Russians are also preparing an offensive in several directions.

This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky while talking to journalists.

According to him, the Ukrainian military continues to fulfil its task in Kursk region and will remain there as long as necessary. He noted that the strategic steps of the Ukrainian army are aimed at preventing the advance of Russian troops.

‘The Ukrainian military are there and will remain there as long as we need this operation. We see that Putin is talking about the alleged encirclement of our military, but our guys are standing their ground, proving that this is not true. These are our strategic steps, and we will do everything to exclude his attempts to seize new territories,’ Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian president also drew attention to the build-up of Russian troops near the Ukrainian border and probable new attacks in Sumy, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions. According to him, Ukraine will not allow the enemy to implement its plans easily.

‘We see a build-up of troops in Kursk region. They want to hit Sumy region, Kharkiv region, Zaporizhzhia - this is what we are observing. But we will not let them do it so easily,’ he emphasised.

Zelensky also commented on possible peace talks and noted the need for specific details from the US and its role in the process.

‘If President Trump can get to the point regarding details and ensure that the strikes against energy and in the Black Sea are stopped - this will be the first step. Whatever it is, we will support steps that lead to reducing attacks against civilian and military infrastructure,’ the head of state said.
