‘Information Troops Should Form Basis Of NATO And European Security’
ANDRIY KOVALENKO

A lot depends on this in the next 5-10 years.

Russia is expanding the number of IPSO units in its armed forces not only to scale up the information war against Ukraine, but also for active work in Europe, the United States, the Middle East and Asia.

The European NATO countries are the main target for the Russians now. The Russian Federation is not capable of defeating Ukraine in our information field, so the stake is placed on several goals in the information space of the Western world.

Here are the goals of the Russians.

1. Segmentation of the European Union, support for alternatives to the current political elites, political forces and their leaders, who can be called Eurosceptics, to increase contradictions in decision-making within the EU, a certain nationalization of the courses of European countries, which, according to the Russian Federation's plan, should be dependent on Russian resources. Segmentation should ultimately lead to the collapse and destruction of the EU — these are exactly the plans of the Russian Federation.

2. Destruction of NATO institutionality – Russian propaganda should work to cause a loss of faith in the Alliance in Europe, weakening institutionality and promoting theses regarding “good neighborliness” with the Russian Federation. This, in the opinion of the Russians, can facilitate a military solution to the issue in the Baltic countries in four to six years.

3. Discrediting the subjectivity of Ukraine and imposing negativity towards us in order to reduce support for Europe in the future.

4. Growing political contradictions in the United States, attempts to weaken the institutionality of the American authorities within American society using information.

5. The Middle East and Asia – promoting the Russian agenda to prevent negative trends, including in relation to energy prices, supporting the formation of an alternative to the West with the participation of the Russian Federation.

Of course, information troops should become the basis of security for NATO and European countries in principle. A lot depends on this in the next 5-10 years.

Russia's military propaganda has long been working against Europe and the West, and in response, it mostly receives blows from us, but not from the collective West, although it has long been necessary to choose a forceful scenario here.
