Russian Comedian Detained In Belarus

A criminal case has been opened against him in the Russian Federation.

Lukashenka's security forces reported the detention of Russian stand-up comedian Artemy Ostanin.

A criminal case has been opened against the comedian in Russia under the article on incitement of hatred, hostility and humiliation of human dignity (Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The press release of the Investigative Committee stated that Ostanin made “hostile comments towards persons who were injured and disabled” at a concert on March 15 in Moscow.

Activists from the organization “Call of the People” wrote a denunciation against the comedian.
