NYT: Trump Wants To Restrict Entry To US For Belarusian Citizens

Our country is in the "orange" category.

US President Donald Trump and his administration are considering introducing new restrictions on entry into the country for citizens of 43 countries. It is expected that this list will include, in particular, Russia, Belarus, and Middle Eastern countries.

US officials familiar with the discussions told The New York Times about this.

According to sources, the list of countries whose citizens risk falling under restrictions was developed by the US State Department together with representatives of the security services.

According to the document, there are three categories of countries: red, orange, and yellow. These markers indicate the degree of restrictions on entry into the United States.

The publication explained that residents of countries in the "red" category will no longer receive permits to enter the United States. Citizens of "orange" countries will be subjected to new restrictions, and "yellow" countries will need to fix the problems that the Trump administration finds within 60 days. If the conditions are not met, these countries will move to the "orange" category.

Preliminary list of countries whose citizens may fall under the new restrictions on entry to the United States:

"red" — Afghanistan, Bhutan, Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, Yemen;

"orange" — Belarus, Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, Russia, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Turkmenistan;

"yellow" -— Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Dominica, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Sao Tome and Principe, Vanuatu, Zimbabwe.

In addition, Afghanistan, which came under the control of the Taliban in 2021 after the US withdrew its troops from the country, may be included in the new list.
