Residents of the city complained about the smell of burning.
The Flagshtok-Homelshchyna writes that at about half past midnight, an aircraft was shot down over Homel. Residents of the central and northeastern parts of Homel reported that debris fell to the ground.
The sound of the explosion, as noted, was heard throughout the city and in the suburbs. Due to the blast wave in Homel, car alarms went off, and city residents felt the vibration of the walls of houses. There was a smell of burning in the street.
The fall coincided in time with a massive air attack by Russia on Ukrainian territory. The neighboring Chernihiv region was also under attack. Perhaps it was the Russian 'Shahed'.
Telegram channel "Homel. The Main!" published a video from his subscribers at night with the words: "Residents of the city are watching the fall of some large, burning object."
On the morning of February 13, the channel wrote that there were no official comments on the night incident yet, but noted that, according to information from Russian publics, it was "another lost drone."
A Telegram channel close to Lukashenka's security forces confirmed that a drone was shot down in the skies over Belarus, but was afraid to call it Russian.
"Today, at about 00:30, a 'transit guest' was shot down over Homel by the air defence systems of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. The drone floated in the direction of Gomel after the work of electronic warfare. The 'loss' ended up on Belarusian territory, before it entered the country's airspace, the air defence had already tracked it, after which it was successfully destroyed," the security forces wrote.
