Z-activist complained about the theft by Russian occupants of belongings of those killed in Ukraine.
The Russian military in Ukraine is "embezzling" personal belongings of dead coworkers, as well as appropriating their documents and bank cards, said Z-blogger Anastasia Kashevarova. "Everything is taken and embezzled - helmets, body armor, documents, bank cards, more and money will be taken from them by so-called fellow soldiers or commanders," Kashevarova wrote in her Telegram channel. According to her data, in some cases things are stored for several weeks in the military unit, after which they are still "dispersed". At the same time, inquiries from the families of the deceased in units and headquarters are often answered that they know neither where the man died nor where his belongings are, The Moscow Times writes.
Kashevarova cited a case in which soldiers stole from the deceased not only his personal phone, passport, bank card and contract with the Defense Ministry, but also a book quoting Mao Tse-tung. "It turns out the relatives have neither the grave of the fighter, nor the history of his death, nor that book with notes, which he constantly read. Also coworkers scattered like crows everything that was left of him," - said Z-activist. She was outraged by the situation, recalling that this is "the sovereign's army, not a rabble," and called for more discipline, "even if there are many random people with low morals and lack of understanding of the brotherhood of war in the Russian Armed Forces."
Earlier, one of the most prominent Z-bloggers Yuri Podolyaka said that the Russian army, after nearly four years of war, had still failed to normalize the basic supply of underwear and socks for servicemen. According to him, most of such needs continue to be covered by volunteers. At the same time, the Defense Ministry is aware of the problem, but "can't do anything," Podolyaka stressed.
Supply problems in the Russian Armed Forces are systemic. Back in June, the pro-government "Lenta.ru" wrote that Russian servicemen involved in the invasion of Ukraine are forced to spend almost all of their salaries of 200,000-300,000 rubles on frontline needs. According to the publication, the soldiers buy food, ammunition, gasoline, equipment - including REB systems - at their own expense and even pay for the funerals of fellow soldiers.
In September, Ukrainian military intelligence published a recording of an intercepted phone conversation in which Russian servicemen complained about poor supplies and unforeseen expenses. One soldier said that "almost everything has to be bought at their own expense or sent from home" and that units often resort to collecting money among the personnel. "People throw money together and buy the same lighters, because nothing is issued," he noted.
