The countries resumed hostilities.
Thai Prime Minister Anuthin Chanvirakoon has refused to negotiate with Cambodia to resolve the situation on the border between the two countries. He was quoted by the newspaper The Nation.
"Our response is not a signal. It is a measure to make it clear that they must not threaten Thailand's sovereignty. There will be no negotiations from now on. If we want to stop fighting, Cambodia must follow the course set by Thailand," the Thai prime minister said.
On Dec. 8, Thailand accused Cambodia of attacking civilian areas in Buriram province.
Shortly before that, Thailand and Cambodia struck each other in the border area. The incident came after an attack on Thailand's Anupong base that injured the kingdom's military. Thailand responded with F-16 fighter jets that struck Cambodian artillery in the Chong An Ma area.
