A "multifaceted effort" is underway.
Ukraine and Russia are now allegedly "closer than ever" to a peace agreement to end the war. Multifaceted work is underway, in which the United States is also involved.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the statement of the US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker during a forum in the city of Doha in Qatar.
"You know, we are close to peace. We're closer than we've ever been," he said in response to a question about when a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia would already be signed.
Whitaker reminded that US President Donald Trump believes there is a "difficult situation" right now. Both sides, according to the ambassador, are literally "turning their noses up" and refusing to compromise.
"You don't want to walk halfway into a butcher store where they make sausage and complain that you don't like it...As far as I'm concerned, we're all on the same page. With Secretary Rubio involved in the process, I'm quite confident that all perspectives will be considered, but at the same time we need to find out if an agreement can even be reached," he said.
Whitaker confirmed that everything that was laid out in the so-called 28-point "U.S. peace plan" has now been divided into four separate tracks. And NATO, the European Union - they are working separately from the peace process on the war in Ukraine and from negotiations directly between the United States and Ukraine.
"All of these tracks are now moving in parallel, in real time," he added.
