An assassination attempt on the commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet was allegedly prevented in Sevastopol. This is reported by Ura.ru.
According to the publication, FSB officers prevented an assassination attempt on one of the commanders of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Armed Forces. The attack was planned to use an improvised explosive device (IED) mounted on a car.
A resident of the Transbaikal Territory, who voluntarily joined a terrorist organization banned in Russia, was involved in the preparation of the assassination attempt. In September this year, on the instructions of his handler, the man traveled to Crimea and there received detailed instructions on how to assemble an explosive device and install it.
The FSB officers detained him at the moment of laying the IED. Criminal cases have been opened against him under articles on state treason and terrorism.
